Cockpit

Enter the chopper’s cockpit and prepare for takeoff. Your job is to squeeze the handle with one hand while pumping the lever with the other. That’s how you climb skyward. Once you’ve reached the altitude you want, the footpedals will take you around, high over everyone’s heads. Notice the impressive propeller on top of your craft. When you want to descend, release the handle and the helicopter will land safely. Alternative energy: Your pedaling creates kinetic energy, the energy of motion. Your aircraft’s motor turns it into electrical energy, which is used for moving the aircraft. Notice that your pedaling is also responsible for powering the lights.

Moon Walk

Exhilarating sense of reduced gravity, while spinning in mid-air a sitting harness hanging down from a centre pole. the child sits within the harness and jumps against a circular board to start spinning around the pole. the jumping motion simulates the reduced sense of gravity on the surface of the moon and illustrates various physical elements such as Newton’s third law, gravity and more. laws of Physics: Kinetic energy • Potential energy • Newton’s third law (action = reaction) Gravity • Angular momentum • Gyro effect

The Pythagoras Treadmill

This treadmill rotates on a tilt, but when you’re on it, you’ll feel that you’re walking level. The tilt is there to help prove the Pythagorean Theorem. Notice that the blue liquid can completely fill up either the big square or the two smaller squares, with nothing left over. What you see is proof that, as Pythagoras said, the larger square is equal in area to the two smaller squares together. Alternative energy:  When you walk or run on the treadmill, making it turn, you create kinetic energy (the energy of motion). A dynamo uses this kinetic energy to create electrical energy for the equipment’s lighting.

The Möbius Bench

Three level bench shaped as the recycling logo A triangular shaped bench with each edge designed at a different height, providing tailored seating comfort for children of different ages and adults alike. The bench is actually shaped as a Mobius, a surface with only one side and only one boundary component. To understand this physical wonder, balls are attached to the side of the bench. the child will slide the balls along the bench and surprisingly observe that a ball starting on the outer side of the bench will complete the circle on the inner side, showing that the bench is indeed one-sided.

The Spinning Universe

Children sit inside a sphere shaped roundabout representing the sun. The earth and moon attached on an upper axis move relative to the sun as the carousel turns around. Audio sound encourages information about the universe. Alternative energy: The motion of the carousel creates kinetic energy — the energy of motion. That energy can be translated into electrical energy, heat energy, or other kinds of energy. In fact, the equipment uses the kinetic energy of the carousel, translated into electric energy, to operate its lights.
